Who we are

RLA Inspect is a company that provides Consumer Protection service to the real estate industry. Our mission is to provide home owners, home sellers, and home buyers with the highest quality consumer protection within the scope of our services. To do this, we approach every job knowing who our Client is, what their needs are, and performing within the scope of that service to the best of our abilities. Each service has a Standard of Practice (SOP) set forth either by state legislation, federal agency or national governing bodies. Each organization we belong to has a Standard of Conduct (SOC) we must adhere to.

We have fun but, we take our work seriously, setting aside as many as 60 hours each year of continuing education for all the services we provide. We form many friendships within the inspection community and willingly share our knowledge through our membership organizations (VAREI, ASHI, IEA, NRSB, ACAC) for the betterment of the Home Inspection Industry.



Each service we provide has a contract agreement that must be signed before the inspection to fulfill insurance coverage. Each contract agreement fulfills Virginia requirements to protect both the rights of the Client and the Inspector. Each contract agreement spells out the scope of the service and we provide educational resource links to further the Client’s knowledge base.

  • Residential Repair/Maintenance Contractor - Seeing first hand the destructive nature of weather to a home and fixing it.
  • Home and Environmental Inspector - Consumer Protection provider for real estate transactions and home safety.
  • Volunteer – Community Team that constructs free wheelchair ramps for families in need.
  • Volunteer – Community Team that provides free residential repairs for storm (Ida, Katrina, etc.) damaged homes that lack insurance or government aid.
  • Volunteer – Friends of Barnabas, Medical Mission Team providing free medical, dental and eye care services to rural Honduran mountain villages surrounding Lake Yojoya.
  • Passions – Spiritual Growth, Family and Friends, Live Music, Great Reads, Pedaling, Paddling and National Parks!
